According to CBSA, drugs were discovered in jugs marked “canola oil” for transport to Australia.

Over the past six months, the Canada Border Services Agency claims to have seized more than 6,300 kilogrammes of methamphetamine in British Columbia, including the largest single methamphetamine seizure in history.

Agents in Burnaby discovered 40 jugs containing just over 200 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine in December of last year. A month later, 2,900 kilogrammes of liquid methamphetamine were discovered in 180 containers passing through the Delta container assessment facility.

The government claims that the discovery in January was its biggest methamphetamine seizure to date and was enough to fill 35 large suitcases.

More than 3,000 kilogrammes of liquid methamphetamine were found in two other significant seizures that took place at the container examination facility in May.

The organization claims that cooperation between officials in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand led to the seizures.
