After a two-year break, the yearly event will be back on Dec. 4.

After a two-year break, the yearly Civic Light Up will return to Canada Games Plaza on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The 27th yearly event will start at 5 p.m. the centerpiece Tree of Lights will be lit at 5:55 p.m. outside Canada Games Plaza.

The event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, music, mascots, and street hockey with members of the Prince George Spruce Kings and singular visit by Santa Claus. Free hot brown and holiday treats will be served at 6 p.m., after the cheer up, and there will be a fireworks show presented by Canadian Tire.

Ahead of the main occasion, Two Rivers Gallery will be hosting free craft sessions from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and there will be free civic skating at Kopar Memorial Arena from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

The Essence of the North Festival of Trees will be consecutively inside the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
