Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms that might bring heavy rain, huge hail, and gusty winds.

For the remainder of Canada Day in Prince George, Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch.

According to the watch statement, conditions are ideal for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be able to produce significant wind gusts, huge hail, and heavy rain. Large hail can harm people and harm their property. Strong wind gusts have the power to overturn huge cars, blow away things, weaken buildings, and break branches off trees.

When the atmosphere is conducive to the development of thunderstorms that could bring about one or more of the following: huge hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain, severe thunderstorm watches are issued.

A thunderstorm watch ends at 1 a.m. on Sunday.
