Special weather announcement issued for Prince George, Stuart-Nechako

The weather is forecast to take a radical turn starting Tuesday afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather declaration for the Prince George and Stuart-Nechako regions saying a cold front is expected to deliver 15-25 millimetres of rain along with thunderstorms and to be followed by winds gusting to 60 km/h.

It will be part of a pattern sweeping across the area and forecast to last through to Wednesday.

An upper level commotion develops Tuesday night, bringing rain and a risk of storms to eastern regions of the province from the B.C. Peace River area to the Kootenay. Stormy winds are likely to continue as well for the central interior and the North and South Thompson regions,” Environment Canada says.
